Ok so all of you moms out there that have been pregnant please help me out.
Mandrae thinks that if I walk everyday that I will have less pain when delivering and that exercise will take away the pain. I keep telling him that it wont ever take away the pain bc the baby will stretch ur bones and flesh period and the pain will not change but it will help with labor and making it go smoother and possibly faster. Right??
I think that I am right and he thinks that he is right. What do u think?
Will walking - starting now - make the birthing process less painful?

Quite honestly, "they" say that working out period while you're pregnant will make things better - during labor and bouncing back faster. I didn't work out at all during my pregnancy and in less than 5 minutes (3 pushes), Lexi was born. So, I think it really doesn't matter.
ReplyDeleteAre you going to have an epidural? I highly suggest it. :)
I cannot speak from personal experience about working out during pregnancy. However, I watched a lot of Discovery Health while eating ice cream and I noticed many Moms did work out some.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a lot easier just to have the epidural instead.
Seriously, it won't make the actual pushing out the baby "less painful" but I do know that it can increase your breathing stamina and you will have better endurance to push longer if needed.
ReplyDeleteYou tell Mandrae that if he doesn't stop telling you to exercise, he's going to need something to take the pain away.
ha
SO funny. I think you have your answer, Karissa. Those are two moms who KNOW labor pains.

TIME OUT!!!! I highly recommend exercising, because ONE: you won't gain any unnecessary baby weight, and TWO: you wouldn't go to a track meet without practicing first, would you? You gotta work out because then you're more prepared. Labor is a really physical thing and you don't wanna just go into it without being ready. So work out! It's not that hard.
ReplyDeletei am not scared of working out!!! i dont mind it , i just dont want my husband thinking that i will be in less pain bc i did work out! then he will be like o whatever that was nothing it didnt hurt!!! come on now! i need sympathy!
ReplyDeleteI heard the same thing. I could never walk because of where Zoe was positioned on my hip. Way too painful. Labor wad a breeze. I pushed for less than ten minutes. 3xs total. Was out of the hospital in less than 36 hrs. Walking didn't affect me. Good luck!
